Below are 11 of what we consider to be the best CrossFit gyms in the whole of London.
1. CrossFit North London
CrossFit North London is one of the largest CrossFit centres in town. Located near Crouch End in North London, super experienced founders Gerard and Sarra provide various CrossFit training, including levels 1 and 2, mobility and movement, weight lifting and endurance coaching.
You can also take advantage of full nutrition and lifestyle training, scientific back training, pre and post natal training, core training and many more.
CrossFit classes include foundation classes, the workout of the day, over 60s, kids and yoga, as well as having an open gym to use at any time.
2. CrossFit Central London
No prizes for guessing where this is located… CrossFit Central London is in the shadow of the towering Shard building, and offers CrossFit for every range and genre of fitness.
Choose from personal training sessions, foundation training, element classes, workout of the day, endurance and Olympic lifting.
Classes run throughout the day and their experienced trainers also offer a free introduction appointment so you can check them out before you sign up.
3. CrossFit Evolving
CrossFit Evolving in Kilburn opened in 2013 and has since gone from strength to strength.
They offer an excellent standard of facilities, and the sole aim of the trainers who work here is to ‘meet the training needs of members of all levels of technical ability, confidence and fitness aligned with your goals’. The gym is open 7/7 from 06:00 to 22:00 hours.
4. CrossFit Ivy
The CrossFit Ivy in Feltham offers a complete range of training, including an open gym, Olympic weightlifting and personal training as well as a complete range of CrossFit sessions.
You can rock up for a free taster session to find out if this is the gym for you (phone or email for times), and then sign up for a rolling monthly contract.
5. Royal Docks CrossFit
The East London Royal Docks CrossFit is next door to the Excel Centre, and is one of the smartest gyms around, with competition grade Wolverson equipment and flooring.
Classes start at 06:30 during the week with the workout of the day, and the last classes run from 19:30 for an hour.
6. CrossFit Performance 360 London
Another East London gym, CrossFit Performance 360 London offers all the regular CrossFit sessions, but also a great selection of martial arts classes.
To get started, purchase a week’s trial membership at £20 to see if you get on with the training, or if you choose, £200 will get you on a foundation course of 2 x 3 hour sessions and 8 x 1 hour classes.
7. CrossFit St Albans
On the cusp of the M25 motorway, the St Albans located CrossFit St Albans runs classes in its 2 studios from 06:15 hours every morning.
You can also use the open gym in the basement whenever classes are not running. Personal training is also offered, and the fun classes cater for 20 people at a time.
8. CrossFit Hammersmith
The West London CrossFit Hammersmith offers the full range of strength and conditioning that make up the CrossFit program.
The friendly team of 5 trainers will introduce beginners to the method, as well as pushing those more experienced members to exactly the right level for their ability.
You can choose from simply paying a drop in price of £15 per class up to blocks of 10, or a silver or gold membership that includes use of the open gym as well as classes.
9. Pro Mai MMA Academy
Not simply a CrossFit gym, the Pro Mai MMA Academy offers mixed martial arts training and Olympic weightlifting as well.
Located in Feltham, Middlesex, you can join in the many classes or use either of the two fully equipped gyms, weights and free weight stations.
10. CrossFit Perpetua London
In a wonderful central location at Chelsea Bridge, CrossFit Perpetua London prides itself on being a dedicated world-class strength and conditioning facility.
When you come here you first attend their ‘Fundamentals Program’ (a one or two on one training session) before moving onto group exercise classes or personal training.
Classes start at 06:00 and run through to 19:30. You can also take advantage of a full range of regular gym equipment at any time throughout the day.
11. In2CrossFit
Clapham located In2CrossFit not only runs regular CrossFit sessions, but also yoga, kettlebell training, Olympic lifting and mobility training. The gym prides itself on providing a wonderful atmosphere in which to train and the friendliness of its many loyal members.
For those who are new to CrossFit, you can join a 60 minute, free of charge, one-on-one introductory session (bring a friend if you choose), who will explain all about the CrossFit method, as well as their own application of the training.
They’ll assess your fitness levels – and more importantly, your current limitations – to get you started. You then follow their fundamentals training, and once you’re deemed ready, you’ll be free to join any of the CrossFit group classes that run throughout the day, every day.
The fundamentals program consists of 15 x one-on-on or two-on-one sessions that ensure you’ll be familiar with all of the CrossFit movements before you progress onto classes.
Of course, for those already experienced in CrossFit, there’s no need to follow the fundamental training program before you get started.
